Lookout tower on the Schwarzenberg

A traditional highlight for Nature Park visitors

Visitors to the imposing lookout tower on the top of the Schwarzenberg hill can enjoy an impressive panoramic view.

The impressive lookout tower on the Schwarzenberg is the heart of the Nordwald Nature Park and climbs up to 21 meters to the tops of the surrounding coniferous trees. At 960 metres above sea level, its visitors look far over the area of extensive forest on the edge of the Waldviertel highlands. On a clear day, the view reaches as far as the Ötscher mountains. The wooden tower is also open to the public in winter.

Reachability for hikers:
In the Nordwald Nature Park and the municipality of Bad Großpertholz, almost 130 km of signposted hiking and theme trails lead around the Schwarzenberg lookout tower.
