Our goals in the education pillar

By the use of interactive forms of understanding and experiencing nature and by special programmes for knowledge transfer on nature and environmental topics, we will make it possible to experience our nature and culture and their interrelationships and cycles.

In accordance with the education pillar of the 4-pillar model of the Austrian Nature Parks, Norwald Nature Park association has formulated a number of sub-goals for the coming years in its Nature Park Concept, which are to be achieved step by step within the scope of several projects:

  • The existing educational and communication offers in the fields of nature, environment and landscape education are significantly increased and professionally advertised.
  • Cooperation with schools and the kindergarten in the Nature Park municipality is intensified and strategic and active cooperation is established within the framework of the "Nature Park School" and "Nature Park Kindergarten" certification programme. 
  • The Nature Park becomes a kind of local/regional "knowledge transfer platform" and increasingly deals with further education programmes, traditional knowledge and information on nature, environmental and landscape conservation.
